The majority of the prewar railway Dufaycolors come from the collection of the late C S Perrier and were taken by his father Sidney Perrier. This is one of the most important collections of Dufaycolors that has survived largely intact from one of the early proponents of colour photography in Britain. By the time Dufaycolor came out in 1935 he had been experimenting with colour photography for over 10 years although the early years were largely indoor and garden photographs on Autochrome and Paget plates.
